Sand reedgrass is a tall grass that is characteristic of dune areas and is known for its ability to stabilize dune crests. If planted on sandy or loamy, well-drained, low nutrient soil, it can form an attractive patch if not crowded and in full sun. It has pale green stems and a slender, branched inflorescence.
